Day 3 – Tuesday 01 January 2020

A former Habsburg palace converted into a museum, the Albertina in Vienna is a sublime architectural as well as curatorial wonder. All art and history lovers will delight in a visit to this great museum. The permanent collection at the Albertina boasts one of Europe's most impressive permanent collections of modern art, featuring works by the greatest artists of our time such as Picasso, Monet, Klee, Matisse among others while its world-famous print room houses a graphic arts collection comprised of over one million pieces, ranging from the Gothic to the modern era, from Dürer to Cézanne. Today, we visit the wonderful ALBERTINA Museum for a guided tour of the Dürer exhibition. Home to the world’s most important collection of drawings by Albrecht Dürer, almost 40, this exhibition, will be rounded out by international loan works. The central focus of the exhibition will be on his drawn oeuvre – which will show itself to be an artistic achievement at least equal to that of his paintings and printed graphic work.

We also have an optional concert option for you today, should this be of interest.
