For more than one hundred years, the Chelsea Flower Show has blossomed in the centre of London. A fabulous combination of modern and classic design, the show has always been a source of advice and inspiration with its many exciting new introductions and inventive solutions for gardens of all sizes.

Staying in Kensington in the centre of London, visit the Chelsea Flower Show in 2022 with Keith Prowse and see the latest gardening in trends and fashions, witness spectacular gardens from some of the world’s best designers and marvel at dozens of spectacular gardens & floral displays from around the world.  Admire the stunning Kew Gardens and be amazed at the gardens of Great Dixter Gardens and Sissinghurst Castle.   This truly is a holiday for all gardening enthusiasts.

 

Program

Day 1
Your tour will start with a flight from Dublin to London Heathrow airport. Flight departure time 09:50am. (please note that flight times are subject to change at airlines discretion)

After arrival at Heathrow airport, meet you local guide in the arrivals hall. Our tour of England’s green and pleasant land will begin in the country’s iconic capital. After meeting the group at the airport, get to know one another better over a light lunch (lunch cost not included).

The tour then begins in ernest with a visit to the stunning world-famous Kew Gardens. Here you are free to explore the gardens independently. Experience beautiful botanic gardens and the most biodiverse place on Earth, with over 50,000 living plants across theUNESCO World Heritage site.

At the end of your visit, meet you guide guide and depart for the hotel and check-in.

Hotel: 4* Copthorne Tara Hotel London Kensington
The Copthorne Tara Hotel London Kensington is situated just a short walk from Kensington High Street, with its many shops and cafes and is close to the shops and restaurants of Knightsbridge and Notting Hill. All are en-suite and feature coffee and tea making facilities. Free WiFi is available in all areas. The hotel offers restaurant facilities offering both British and European cuisine and the Cafexpress cafe.

Day 2

Today, enjoy a a busy but rewarding day at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Your local guide will meet you at the hotel and escort you on the coach to the flower show. Once you arrive and have entered the gates, you are free to tour the show independently.

The WOW Factor: The Chelsea Flower Show is top of the list when it comes to awe-inspiring garden designs, impressive feats of engineering and sheer size and scope of the floral offerings. Whether you have a large garden area or a small balcony, there are a plethora of great ideas for you to take home.

Knowledge & Education: There really is no better place to learn more about plants and horticulture than the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. From the 3 acre Great Pavilion with hundreds of exhibits from the world’s best nurseries, growers and florists to the drama and buzz of the award-winning Show Gardens, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show is all about the plants and flowers. Shopping, help and advice! At Chelsea, you will find many unique and hard to find gardening products with industry professionals on hand to answer all your questions.

At the end of the day, meet up with your local guide who will accompany you back to your hotel.

Evening is at your own leisure. Perhaps take in one of London’s fabulous West End Shows or take a night time tour or simply relax in your hotel after a busy day at the Chelsea Flower Show.

Day 3

This morning we meet our guide and coach for a delightful day visiting two wonderful gardens. Our first stop will be at one of England’s most renowned, Sissinghurst Castle Garden, where you will have free time to enjoy each of the garden ‘rooms’, designed so that there was always a garden in season. We then proceed for lunch (included) and travel on to Great Dixter Gardens, another iconic English garden, famed for it’s non-conformity and wonderful colours - no traditional garden formality here! After out visits we head back to our hotel, arriving late afternoon, early evening.' (Please note that the order of events on this day may change)

Day 4

Today, you have the morning and early afternoon at leisure to enjoy the sights of London. Mid-afternoon we have to take our leave and head back to the airport for our departure flight home. Flight departs at 18:45.

Booking Deposit
Booking deposit is €150 pp. Second deposit of €150 due 01 December 2021. Remaining balance due 8 weeks prior to departure date. No credit card charge on deposit payments.

Hotel Rating
Please note that our hotel rating is a reflection of how the property compares to the industry standard in the UK in relation to when it comes to price, facilities and services offered by the hotel.

Luggage
One small bag (size of a ladies handbag) and one standard piece of check-in luggage is included in your tour price. (10 kilos). Extra checked in luggage is available to purchase prior to travel, prices varies according to baggage weight. Please note that checked-in luggage should be booked at the time of booking and must be booked with a minimum of 14 days prior to travel.

Passport
It is your responsibility to ensure your passport will be valid for your holiday. Please contact IFC should you have any queries regarding your passport. EU passport holders do not require a visa to travel within the EU. As a rule of thumb for European travel your passport should be valid until your intended date of return to Ireland. For travel outside the EU a validity of a minimum of 6 months beyond your return date is required. A visa may be needed for your holiday and information regarding this will be sent closer to travel.

Tour Activities
Please note that there is a fair amount of walking on this tour. Ours are active holidays. Walking, stair-climbing and standing around for periods are unavoidable aspects of this tour. This tour is suitable for those of a normal fitness but may not be suitable for those who need support. Walking and getting on and off a coach several times a day is part of the tour.

Tour Itinerary and timing of excursions
Please note that we reserve the right to amend the timings of the tour itinerary in line with supplier requests and included excursions may take place on different days.

IFC strongly recommends travel insurance and can offer a competitive quotation if not already purchased. IMPORTANT: If you have purchased travel insurance with IFC. If you or any person travelling has a pre-existing medical condition then you must declare that condition to Health Check

Please note that the visitor attractions state that customer touchpoints are frequently cleaned and that in a attempt to reduce crowds, the number of visitors is limited. Masks are required in visitor attractions and indoors and we would ask all travellers to bring their own. Temperature checks are mandatory in certain attractions.
