Staying in Venice, this tour includes an excursion to Murano and Burano, where you will watch a fascinating glass-blowing demonstration, and then moves on to Burano Island, where you will visit a traditional lace-making factory, an excursion to Vicenza and historic Bassano del Grappa, known for both its World War I history and the famous traditional grappa drink. Here you will enjoy a walking tour in Vicenza and visit a grappa museum in Bassano. End the day with dinner before taking your seat at the Andrea Bocelli Concert in the medieval town of Marostica (with TRIBUNA Silver tickets – CAT 7). We also take an excursion to Treviso and Valdobbiadene, famous as the home of Prosecco.

Program

Day 1 – Monday 13 September 2021

Fly Dublin-Venice. Flight departs Dublin at and arrives Venice (please note that flight times are subject to airlines discretion). On arrival in Venice airport, meet your local guide and transfer to the Hotel Carlton on the Grand Canal in Venice where you are booked for four-nights on a bed and breakfast basis.

On arrival at Venice (Treviso) Airport, please collect any checked in luggage and meet your local transfer escort in the arrivals hall. You escort will accompany you on your private boat transfer to your hotel.

The Hotel Carlton on the Grand Canal in Venice overlooks Venice's Grand Canal. The Hotel has a rooftop cocktail bar with terrace while the Bar Carlton Café provides drinks and snacks throughout the day and the La Cupola restaurant serves both Italian and international dishes. Marco Square is a pleasant 25 minute walk away, and is also accessible by vaporetto the local water taxi bus.
On arrival, check into the hotel.

Remainder of the day is at your leisure to settle in.

Day 2 – Tuesday 14 September 2021

This morning, explore the famous islands of the Venice lagoon on a half-day islands excursion. Watch master glass blowers at work at a factory on Murano, shop for lace and admire the wonderfully painted houses on Burano. This tour is a great introduction to the magical islands of the Venetian lagoon.

Please note that the walk from your hotel to the boat departure point is an approximate 20 minute walk.

Day 3 – Wednesday 15 September 2021

Excursion to Vicenza and historic Bassano del Grappa, known for both its World War I history and the famous traditional grappa drink. End the day with dinner before taking your seat at the Andrea Bocelli Concert in the medieval town of Marostica (with TRIBUNA Silver tickets – CAT 7).

The day starts with a visit to Vicenza, one of the most elegant smaller cities in Italy. The city is home to stunning architectural treasures such as the Villa Rotunda and Teatro Olimpico, which you will visit. Learn about the history and culture of this UNESCO-listed gem with your local guide.

The tour then moves on to the historic town of Bassano del Grappa, known for both its World War I history and the famous traditional grappa drink. Here you will visit a grappa museum and taste this famous drink.

End the day with dinner before taking your seat at the Andrea Bocelli Concert in the medieval town of Marostica (with TRIBUNA Silver tickets – CAT 7).

Day 4 – Thursday 16 September 2021

Excursion to Treviso and Valdobbiadene, famous as the home of Prosecco. Admire the stunning hills as we take a trip out of Venice. Visit a traditional Valdobbiadene winery and vineyards with your guide, and sample locally made Prosecco where its produced.

Remainder of the day is at leisure to explore Venice independently.

Day 5 – Friday 17 September 2021

Morning at leisure.

Today, meet your local guide for coach transfer to the airport for return flight.

Booking Deposit
Low booking deposit of €150 pp to secure your place. Second deposit due by 31 March 2021 of 100 pp. Balance is due 8 weeks prior to departure date.

Concert tickets
Please note that concert tickets are located in the Parter Section in Row 22 and Row 24.

Luggage
Only hand luggage is included in your tour price. Ryanair offer a selection of pre-booked seat and baggage extras with fees attached. We will advise these optional extras at the time of booking.

Passport
It is your responsibility to ensure your passport will be valid for your holiday. Please contact IFC should you have any queries regarding your passport. EU passport holders do not require a visa to travel within the EU. As a rule of thumb for European travel your passport should be valid until your intended date of return to Ireland. For travel outside the EU a validity of a minimum of 6 months beyond your return date is required. A visa may be needed for your holiday and information regarding this will be sent closer to travel.

Tour Activities
Please note that there is a fair amount of walking on this tour. This tour involves a walking tour, a visit to the Salt Mines which is not suitable for people with mobility impairments due to the number of steps involved. Ours are active holidays. Walking, stair-climbing and standing around for periods are unavoidable aspects of this tour. This tour is suitable for those of a normal fitness but may not be suitable for those who need support. Walking and getting on and off a coach several times a day is part of the tour.
